Web Survey Bibliography
Hyperlinks have attracted a lot of attention over the past 7 years, from computer scientists, information scientists, physicists, and sociologists, all using them for different purposes. In this article, the authors review recent progress from the information science approach and summarize current techniques for extracting usable information from web links. The description is particularly aimed at those unfamiliar with the literature but who nevertheless wish to use web links to investigate some aspect of online behavior, particularly informal scholarly communication.
